Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to Rio

Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and enjoy a smooth private transfer from the airport to your hotel in the South Zone. After check-in, take some time to relax, settle in, and feel the city’s ocean breeze.

In the afternoon, choose how you would like to begin your Rio journey. Join a Brazilian Drinks Class for a light and joyful introduction to local flavors, learning how to prepare classic cocktails such as the caipirinha, or enjoy a sunset sailboat tour across Guanabara Bay, taking in Rio’s coastline, mountains, and golden-hour views from the water.

Day 2 – The Wonders of Rio

Your first full day in Rio is dedicated to the city’s most iconic landmarks.

With your private bilingual guide, visit Christ the Redeemer, standing at the top of Corcovado Mountain with panoramic views over the city. Continue to Santa Teresa, Rio’s bohemian hilltop neighborhood, known for its art studios, charming streets, and local restaurants.

Enjoy a traditional Brazilian lunch, with feijoada in Santa Teresa as a suggested highlight. After lunch, visit the colorful Selarón Steps, a vibrant mosaic staircase created by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón.

In the afternoon, continue to Sugarloaf Mountain, where a cable car ride takes you above Guanabara Bay for one of the most beautiful views in Brazil. End the day like a Carioca with sunset drinks at Mureta da Urca, a beloved local spot by the bay.

Day 3 – History, Culture & Music

After breakfast, explore Rio’s Historic Downtown on a private 4-hour tour. This experience reveals a different side of the city, where colonial architecture, imperial history, port area transformations, and Afro-Brazilian heritage come together.

Walk through historic squares, old churches, cultural landmarks, and meaningful areas connected to Rio’s identity, including stories that help explain the roots of samba, carnival, and Brazil’s cultural diversity.

In the evening, choose between two musical experiences: a Samba Night in Lapa, for travelers who want energy, rhythm, and local nightlife, or a Bossa Nova evening in Copacabana, for a smoother and more intimate musical experience inspired by one of Brazil’s most elegant sounds.

Day 4 – Nature & Relaxation

Rio is not only beaches and landmarks — it is also a city surrounded by lush tropical nature.

On this day, enjoy a private 6-hour nature tour through some of Rio’s most beautiful green spaces. Visit Tijuca Forest, one of the largest urban forests in the world, and discover scenic viewpoints, waterfalls, and the Atlantic Forest ecosystem that shapes Rio’s landscape.

Continue to Parque Lage, a romantic historic mansion at the foot of Corcovado Mountain, and the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, home to imperial palm trees, tropical plants, orchids, and peaceful walking paths.

The evening is free for you to relax, enjoy the beach, have dinner at leisure, or simply slow down after a full day of nature.

Day 5 — Farewell

Enjoy your final morning in Rio at your own pace. Depending on your flight time, you may have time for a beach walk, a relaxed breakfast, or last-minute shopping.

Your private transfer will take you from the hotel to the airport with comfort and peace of mind.

Leave Rio with unforgettable views, sounds, flavors, and memories — from the top of Christ the Redeemer to the rhythm of samba, from tropical gardens to sunset drinks by the bay.

Traveler Reviews

We had the most amazing private tour of Rio with Monique. Her passion for the city, its people and its culture is infectious, her intimate knowledge makes the tour so authentically Rio and we managed to skip lines and avoid the big crowds due to her organisation! She also took us to an amazing bar she has been going to for 13 years and the feijoada and caipirinhas were the best in the city.
If you want to experience the true Rio you neeeeeeeeed to do it with Monique!! A real highlight of our South America adventure. Check it out on Google Reviews.
