Over time, they realized that they were a great duo, with complementary knowledge and an enormous desire to share their love for Rio with travelers from all over the world. Thus, from the corporate world, a great friendship emerged and, from the dream cultivated for years, Rio de Janeiro by Cariocas emerged.

Bachelor in Tourism since 2004, she holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Business Communication and specialization in Digital Marketing. Beyond all that, talk about Rio de Janeiro is also to remember Monique Martins. After all, she knows what Rio has the best because she knows it like the back of her hand. She even has it tattooed on her skin! Born in Madureira, a traditional neighborhood in the North Zone of the city, she lives, breathes and loves Rio de Janeiro, since her first steps.
She is a specialist in Brazilian music, bars, beaches and hikes! And no one can be a better company to explore the city than this carioca who has samba in her foot, a cold beer in her hand, the joy in her face and the heat in her heart… Merely the same joyful spirit of the Marvelous City!
Bachelor and Master in History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the largest federal university in Brazil and one of the Brazilian centers of excellence in teaching and research. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), a leader in education in Brazil and abroad.
Historian by education and digital nomad by vocation, Rachel Amaro has always loved to travel, get to know new places and different cultures. She is constantly creating her own itineraries for her next trips. However, Rio de Janeiro has always been and will ever be her “Safe Harbor”.
