About This Tour

Visit Christ the Redeemer, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic landmark. On the way to the monument, travel through Tijuca Forest, one of the world’s largest urban forests, adding a scenic, natural dimension to the experience.

After your visit, continue along the famous Paineiras Road toward Santa Teresa, a historic hilltop neighborhood nestled between Rio’s South Zone and Downtown, known for its artistic atmosphere and panoramic city views.

Enjoy lunch at a local bar, browse artists’ studios and craft shops, and visit Parque das Ruínas, one of Santa Teresa’s most emblematic cultural attractions.

The tour concludes at the Selarón Steps, the world-famous colorful staircase that connects Santa Teresa to the vibrant Lapa district.

Traveler Reviews

Fantastic experience. Traveling to Rio and did a tour to Christ the Redeemer, Santa Teresa and the Selaron Steps with Monique. Definitely made the experience all the more memorable. Besides getting picking me up and getting me around the crazy city that is RIo, Monique was fount of knowledge and great deal of fun to be with as well. She loves what she does and it shows. Will be booking additional tours with Monique during the remainder of my stay. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you Monique! Check it out on Google Reviews.

I found RJ by Cariocas Travel while researching for a trip to Rio on Google. I liked the idea of private tours, and that the prices were reasonable. I reached out to them through WhatsApp and they were responsive and helpful with questions.

We did a custom 8-hour tour, which involved a 5 am pick up at the hotel to see the sunrise at Dona Marta viewpoint, first trip up to Christ the Redeemer, Selaron steps, Parque de Ruinas and then Sunday feijoada at one of the best places to get it in Rio (Santa Teresa neighborhood). The tour included our own car (airconditioned, yes!) and a multilingual (he speaks Spanish, French, German in addition to Portuguese and English!) licensed guide. Paulo was a professional and shared lots of knowledge and history, from geography to cultural history to pop culture. It was a great day and glad to have seen the sights with him. Highly recommend!!!. Check it out on Google Reviews.
