On this Lapa & Santa Teresa Private Walking Tour, you will explore these two iconic districts located in the heart of Rio’s historic center, known for their artistic atmosphere and cultural heritage.
The tour begins with a ride on one of the oldest tramways in the world: the Santa Teresa tram. As the tram crosses the top of the Lapa Arches (Arcos da Lapa), you’ll enjoy a unique perspective over the Lapa neighborhood from above.
In Santa Teresa, we walk along its charming cobblestone streets, observing historic houses, traditional architecture, and hidden viewpoints. We then stop to experience the local cuisine at some of the neighborhood’s trendy restaurants and bars.
The experience continues with visits to cultural centers, art and craft shops, and local artists’ ateliers. We then walk back toward Lapa, passing the colorful Selarón Steps, which beautifully connect the two neighborhoods and are one of Rio’s most iconic landmarks.
