About This Tour
The tour starts at Lage Park, at the foot of Corcovado Mountain. The park is known for its gardens within the Atlantic Forest and its imposing palace in eclectic Roman style.
After visiting the park, you will begin the hike through Tijuca Forest to the top of Corcovado Mountain (709 meters above sea level), where the famous statue of Christ the Redeemer is located.
The hike is considered intermediate to advanced, with a steady climb that takes an average of around 2 hours to ascend (pace may vary). Along the way, the trail winds through dense Atlantic Forest, passing waterfalls, freshwater spots, and areas where you may notice local wildlife.
After reaching the top, you have the option to visit the Christ the Redeemer monument (entry not included) and descend by the historic Corcovado train or Paineiras vehicles (optional; tickets not included), or return via the same hiking route.

Traveler Reviews
We had the most amazing private tour of Rio with Monique. Her passion for the city, its people and its culture is infectious, her intimate knowledge makes the tour so authentically Rio and we managed to skip lines and avoid the big crowds due to her organisation! She also took us to an amazing bar she has been going to for 13 years and the feijoada and caipirinhas were the best in the city.
If you want to experience the true Rio you neeeeeeeeed to do it with Monique!! A real highlight of our South America adventure. Check it out on Google Reviews.
