Rio de Janeiro is much more than Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, and its world-famous beaches. It’s a city made of stories, rhythms, flavors, and connections. That’s exactly what we wanted to reveal when we welcomed Panamanian journalist Alexa Carolina Chacón for an experience designed by Rio de Janeiro by Cariocas — a journey that captured the city’s true spirit.
The result became a beautiful article titled “Río en clave carioca,” published in the latest edition of Panorama Magazine, Copa Airlines’ inflight publication and one of Latin America’s leading travel magazines.
A Journey to Discover the True Carioca Spirit
Our mission was to create an exclusive itinerary that would showcase Rio de Janeiro beyond its famous landmarks, unveiling a city that is authentic, vibrant, and full of contrasts.
During Alexa’s stay, we guided her through experiences that locals truly cherish:
- Historic botequins (local bars) filled with laughter and stories;
- The rhythm of samba off-season, in neighborhood gatherings and rehearsals;
- Hidden viewpoints offering breathtaking perspectives of the city;
- Charming districts like Santa Teresa and Urca, where time slows down and creativity flourishes.
Every stop was designed to express what we deeply believe: Rio is not just a place to visit — it’s a place to live and feel.
